How to give advice to an entire audience?
Each of us passes through a number of stages on the path of life. Infancy, childhood, adolescence, identity formation, the search for success and finally the acceptance of maturity. As we struggle and surpass each stage, we challenge, strengthen and release parts of ourselves. „Die Ratgeber,“ (the Counselor) personifies these struggles and successes onstage by reflecting the audience as a whole in the performance.
The evening starts with a written question-and-answer reception, through which the audience will determine the content to follow. The audience‘ answers, embodied by an actor, coalesce the experiences of many in the room into one. Then, dancers and musicians create a visceral impression on this psychological persona, creating a conversation between performers and audience. The resulting show blurs the distinction between stage and viewer, inviting everyone in the room to participate in a joint exploration of the self.
